WebNotes (“we”, “our”, “extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our Chrome extension and website, and how we use it.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: when you sign up (via Firebase Authentication) we receive your email address and a secure user ID.
- Notes & highlights: text you deliberately save, highlight, or upload to your canvases. We store this to sync across devices.
- Usage data: anonymous interaction data (e.g., number of notes, canvas objects) to improve the service.
- Payment information: All payments are processed by Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international). We never see or store your credit card details.
2. How we use information
To provide, maintain and improve WebNotes: sync your notes, enable AI summarization, troubleshoot issues. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Data storage & security
Data resides in Firebase (Google Cloud) with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry standard security measures. You can request account deletion anytime.
